Our emergency unit is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, with doctors and nurses on duty around the clock. Patients are seen in order of how unwell they are, not only in order of arrival, so the most urgent cases are treated first.
The emergency team works directly with the hospital's ICU, operation theatres, imaging and laboratory, so admission and tests can start without delay.
Come straight away for chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness or difficulty speaking, heavy bleeding, a serious injury, a seizure, high fever in a baby, or bleeding or severe pain in pregnancy.
